Series of Global Entrepreneurship Week events to be held in Allamakee County

A weeklong recognition of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Allamakee County has been announced jointly by Allamakee County Economic Development (ACED) and Lansing Office Works. Events scheduled daily from November 14-17 will be held at the Lansing Office Works location at 247 Main Street in Lansing. All events are free of charge and will include lunch or refreshments.

“We are pleased to announce our second annual effort to support the entrepreneurs and business owners in our county with another weeklong slate of free events and speakers,” shared Val Reinke, Director of ACED.

“Our inaugural 2021 Global Entrepreneurship Week events were well attended and we are grateful for our partnership with ACED to be able to provide these events again in 2022,” stated Maryann Baldwin, Founder of Lansing Office Works.

DAILY EVENT SCHEDULE
The week will kick off Monday, November 14 at 5:30 p.m. with perspectives on running a business with a spouse in “Running A Business With the One You Love.” Small business owners/couples Dave and Laurie Janzen of Lansing Hardware and Nick and Melissa Hammell of the Safe House Saloon and Simply Salon will share their strategies for keeping business and life straight when life partners are also business partners.

Tuesday, November 15 at noon, author Catherine Glynn will speak on the Five Points of Presence, techniques every business leader needs to have in their presence toolkit.

Again at noon Wednesday, November 16, Worldmaker International/THRIVE program speaker Barbara Smed will present on “Resilient Leadership,” featuring strategies to help leaders own their role and create higher performing environments. The lunch program will kick off with members of the Kee High School Innovation Lab class presenting their first trimester project bringing a new endeavor to life through entrepreneurship.

Thursday, November 17 features two events. First at noon, Brittany Todd will present tips and tactics for social media presence for small business owners and entrepreneurs. In the evening, she will help host a reprise of her RESET Networking events, an opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and discover ways to find help with a business, while helping another to advance their small business as well.

Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022 (www.genglobal.org/gew) is a worldwide campaign to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs in every country and community around the world - especially those individuals who face structural barriers or may have never considered the idea of launching their own start-up.
