Staff members at Veterans Memorial Hospital recognize how the goals of Allamakee Prevention Advisory and their own align. The two entities are working toward a common goal of making Allamakee County a healthier, safer place for youth and families to live.
Allamakee Prevention Advisory is comprised of individuals representing different sectors of the community. When those individuals come together to work toward these common goals, they are able to have a greater impact in the county. This month, Allamakee Prevention Advisory wants to spotlight a member from the healthcare sector, Tara Fink.
Tara Fink, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), has joined the Veterans Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic teams in Waukon and Postville. She provides assessment, diagnosis and medication management for those struggling with mental health concerns for all ages. She can also provide some brief supportive therapy and assist with lifestyle modifications and/or non-pharmacological options to support mental health. She will work alongside her team and collaborate with community resources to help patients find behavioral health services such as psychotherapy (counseling) to utilize in addition to services she provides.
No referrals are needed to see her, and patients of all ages are welcome. To request an appointment, call the clinic numbers listed below and registration staff can provide assistance.
Services Fink can assist with include, but are not limited to: anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorders, childhood mental health concerns, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma/stress-related disorders, psychosis, sleep disorders.
