Robey Memorial Library offering variety of activities during winter break from school

Besides its collections of reading materials for all ages, Robey Memorial Library in Waukon will be offering some fun programs for students and families during this year’s winter break from school.

Join Ross Geerdes, Allamakee County Conservation Naturalist, Tuesday, December 27 at 3:30 p.m. as he talks about Animal Camouflage. Afterschool with Ross is a monthly program featuring hands-on activities on outdoor, animal, nature and conservation topics.

Stop in any time between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 28 and Tuesday, January 3 to make something fun to take home during the library’s Make & Take sessions for Kids and for Teens.

Thursday, December 29 at 1:30 p.m. Robey Memorial Library will be showing the movie “SCOOB!” (Rated PG): The first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure for the big screen is the never-before told stories of Scooby-Doo’s origins and the greatest mystery in the career of Mystery Inc. “SCOOB!” reveals how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse,” the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.

Viewers are welcome to bring their own snacks.  Children age eight and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
