Dale Earl Reiser was born January 31, 1933 in Caledonia, MN, the son of Earl H. and Alice R. (Child) Reiser. June 10, 1934, he was baptized at the New Albin Methodist Church. His family moved around the country when he was a child and Dale graduated from high school in Texas.

February 7, 1954, Dale married Elaine M. Wild at Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church in rural New Albin. Shortly after, he served in the U.S. Army from April 1954 until March 1956, spending 18 months in Germany. After being discharged, Dale returned home to farm, growing crops and raising dairy cows, pigs and horses. He also sold Trojan Hybrid seed, Badger equipment and Massey Ferguson equipment. In 1977, Dale started Reiser Implement on his farm in Dorchester with his son, Kenny, which later moved into Waukon.

He loved farming and “gently” telling his children what to do while they helped him. Dale especially loved his horses, going on rides, and was part of the Upper Iowa Saddle Club. He also belonged to the National Farmers Organization, Iowa River Association, Planning and Zoning Commission, the New Albin VFW, and was a member and past elder of Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church. When not busy farming, Dale enjoyed going to dances with Elaine and playing cards.
