Waukon High School Band earns 17 Division I ratings at IHSMA State Contests

Saturday, April 1, members of the Waukon High School Band participated in the Iowa High School Music Association solo and ensemble festival. The event was held at Waukon High School and hosted by the music staff along with the Allamakee Music Boosters.
Band students were required to perform in at least one small ensemble; however, most students participated in two or more events. Students also had the option of performing a solo on their instrument during the day as well. The band members had a successful day receiving 17 Division I ratings, seven Division II ratings, and two Division III ratings. Those ratings are as follows:
Division I solos: Bailey Sherman - flute, Moriah Downing - clarinet, Gabe Goettel - baritone saxophone, Annie Ellingson - flute, Toby Treptau - trumpet, Cody Huinker - trombone, Logan Lubahn - tuba, Alaina Gebel - marimba, Ryan Kolsrud - percussion.
