Mary Anderson

Mary L. Anderson, 77, of Prairie du Chien, WI, formerly of Waukon, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her home in Prairie du Chien. Funeral services were held Monday, May 22 at Center Baptist Church in rural Lansing with Pastor Duane Smith officiating, and burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.

Mary Louise Anderson was born October 13, 1945 in Elkader, the daughter of Homer Moritz and Donna (Oelke) Moritz Radloff. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School in 1963. June 8, 1963, she married Kenneth Robert Anderson at Zion United Church of Christ. They farmed together in rural Waterville, where they operated a dairy herd and raised pigs and grain.

Mary worked at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon as a housekeeper, at Northern Engraving in Lansing as an inspector, and later for the button factory in Lansing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary also enjoyed reading, watching TV and doing word searches.

Survivors include her daughters: Michelle (Chance Berg) Kurth of Coon Valley, WI, Vicki (Rich) Bannen of Steuben, WI and Dawn (Tom) Fish of Red Wing, MN; six grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Dave (Diana) Moritz of Lansing; a sister, Kathy (Jim) Granlund of Alexandria, MN; and her brothers-in-law: Richard Anderson, Gerald (Althea) Anderson and David (Darla) Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth, in 2009; a brother, Paul Moritz; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Casketbearers were Daniel, Darren and Derrick Anderson, Rich Bannen, Jordan Kurth, Chance Berg, and Tom, Michael and Masen Fish.
