Auxiliary of VMH to hold garage sale June 1-2

The members of the Auxiliary of Veterans Memorial Hospital are holding a garage sale at Freedom Bank in Waukon in conjunction with the Waukon City-Wide Garage Sales. The Auxiliary garage sale will be open Thursday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and again Friday, June 2, from 8 a.m. to Noon.

The Auxiliary of Veterans Memorial Hospital is devoted to providing the hospital and its patients and visitors with many services. The Auxiliary also holds annual fundraisers such as the Women’s Health Day Luncheon each fall, the Pillow-Perk in early November, the Gift Case at the hospital and their annual membership drive each July.

All the money the Auxiliary receives goes back to the hospital for equipment which has included  an OB birthing bed,  an ER cart, a NuStep machine, an EKG machine, a mammography viewbox, the Maternity Services Birthing Tub, flat screen TVs for patient rooms, a fetal heart monitor and infant warmer, blanket warmers, outpatient treatment room renovations, carbon monoxide testing machines, patient weigh beds, infant hearing screening machine, and have helped fund the new 3D digital mammography machine and surgery sterilizer.

This is the Auxiliary’s first garage sale, which is being coordinated as a new fundraiser in order to replace the Masquerade sales which will no longer be held. This Auxiliary garage sale will feature clean, usable household items in good working condition. No clothing will be offered.
