Strong crowd and donation support for Holiday Train visits in Lansing and New Albin ...


The Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (CPKC) Holiday Train stop at New Albin included a check presentation for a $4,000 donation to the Way Station in New Albin.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (CPKC) Holiday Train stop at Lansing included a check presentation for a $4,000 donation to be shared by the Lansing Iowa Food Trust (LIFT) and the Allamakee County Food Shelf in Waukon.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (CPKC) Holiday Train was greeted by large, enthusiastic and generous crowds at both stops it made in Lansing and New Albin Friday evening, December 8, as depicted in the surrounding photos. Those attending were treated to musical entertainment by performers Tenille Townes and BRELAND, along with other holiday activities put on by community members, businesses and organizations.

Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited Railroad presented a donation check to the food pantries serving each of the communities hosting a Holiday Train stop, with a donation of $4,000 to the Way Station in New Albin presented at the New Albin stop (top photo above) and a donation of $4,000 to be shared by the Lansing Iowa Food Trust (LIFT) and the Allamakee County Food Shelf in Waukon presented at the Lansing stop (photo below). In addition to the proceeds donated by Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited Railroad, those in attendance also made both monetary and food donations at each stop. Visitors to the Lansing event donated 701 pounds of food and just over $1,000 in cash donations, with those amounts also being evenly split between the Allamakee County Food Shelf and LIFT. The New Albin Holiday Train event yielded 811 pounds of donated food and just under $2,100 in cash donations from the public in attendance. All photos by Julie Berg-Raymond.
