Cynthia Foley

Cynthia Foley, 69, of Harpers Ferry died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at her home in Harpers Ferry. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon with Fr. John Moser officiating. A visitation will follow until 6 p.m.

Cynthia “Cindy” Sue Foley was born October 22, 1954 in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of Donald and Marcella (Buege) Althof. She was baptized at St. Mary’s in La Crosse and confirmed at St. Charles in Genoa, WI. Cindy attended St. Charles school and graduated from St. George High School in Lansing in 1972. Following high school, she attended WWTI in La Crosse.

Cindy met and married the love of her life, Mike Foley, August 24, 1974 at St. Charles in Genoa. The two were married for 49 years, through thick and thin. Throughout her life, Cindy was self-employed, eventually becoming the owner of Serendipity Cleaning.

Cindy had many hobbies and loved being outdoors gardening, bird watching, boating, and raising chickens, cats and dogs. She was a fantastic cook and loved baking and preparing food for family and friends. Cindy also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Foley of Harpers Ferry; her children: Shayna (Mike) Martinson of Sparta, WI, Ryan (Sina) Foley of Phoenix, AZ and Adam (Morgan) Foley of La Crosse, WI; four sisters: Barb (Robert) Zeimet of Victory, WI, Anita (Stephan) Dickman of La Crosse, Mary (Mike) Hansen of Eyota, MN and Jody (Carl) Johnson of Genoa, WI; one brother, Dirk (Lori) Althof of Stoddard, WI; nine grandchildren: Brianna, Tristian, Isabelle, Ian, Jack, Madison, Wyatt, Sage and Weston; and her mother, Marcella Althof of La Crosse.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald; and her mother- and father-in-law, Rose and Leo Foley.
