Playing the final home meet of its 2024 season and what would turn out to be its only competition of this past week after a Thursday, May 2 rain-out at North Fayette Valley, the Waukon boys golf team saved its best for last, turning in its best team score of the season to post a 162-165 team victory over Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday, April 30. Three of the four Indian scorers in the meet each edged a Go-Hawk opponent by a single stroke to provide that final scoring edge, including sophomore Dylan Stegen carding an event-best 38 strokes for meet medalist honors, just in front of Waverly-Shell Rock sophomore Preston Baumhover and his runner-up medalist tally of 39 strokes.

The Indians were next scheduled to play in their Northeast Iowa Conference Tournament at Decorah Monday, May 6 and then their Class 3A Sectional Tournament Wednesday, May 8 hosted by West Delaware High School in Manchester.
