Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie (Johnson) Keller, 78, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away July 16, 2024 in her home in Reedsburg, WI after experiencing a long illness. A private service will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her two children, Brenda (Ben) Poller of Verona, WI and Tim (Sara) of Yuma, AZ; five grandchildren, Zach and Jake Poller, Issac Keller, and Lexi and Tawny Felix; and three brothers, Carl (Julie) and Jeffery (Diana) of Waukon, and David (Robin) of Carroll.
Jackie was born in Cedar Rapids March 29, 1946 to Olaf and Doris (O’Brien) Johnson. She and her younger brother, Carl, with their parents remained in Cedar Rapids until moving to Waukon in 1955 to the family farm at West Ridge. She attended Union Prairie #2 country school through 8th grade before receiving her high school diploma from St. Patrick’s High School in 1964. Jackie finished her education from St. Francis Nursing School in La Crosse, WI.
Jackie met her future husband, Bob, in La Crosse, and they married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at West Ridge December 28, 1968. They made their home in Ontario, WI as Bob taught at Brookwood High School outside of Ontario and Jackie worked in a number of hospitals at La Crosse, Viroqua, Hillsboro and Sparta, WI. They built a home outside Norwalk, WI in 1973 and lived there until moving to Reedsburg, WI in 2023.
Jackie loved life with a passion and when she and Bob retired they continued that passion in retirement. Ho Chunk was always a destination sometime during the week and if not there, she had video games and a Game Boy to pass her time during the day. She was a lifetime fan of the Packers, Badgers, and the Brewers. She made it known that Christian Yelich of the Brewers was her favorite player. This passion for sports began when she cheered both Brenda and Tim as they excelled in their respective sports activities while in school, and later it was the grandkids.
Jackie knew her way around the kitchen and made a mean mac and cheese dish, banana nut bread and scotcharoos. She loved her walks on the country road that ran by her home at Norwalk and loved the animals that she would spy on her walks. She will be missed by her two little pals, dog Maisie and her cat Tillie.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Doris Johnson; and her mother- and father-in-law, Dolly and Carl Keller.
