Suzanne K. Bresnahan, 76, of Dorchester died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hanover Catholic Church in rural Waukon, with Fr. John Moser officiating. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the arrangements.
Suzanne Kathryn Bresnahan was born February 14, 1948, in Spring Grove, MN, the daughter of Christian and Winifred (Casey) Teff. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dorchester, attended Dorchester School and graduated from Waukon High School in 1966.
May 20, 1967, she married Dennis Bresnahan at St. Mary’s Hanover Catholic Church in rural Waukon. From 1967 until 1999 they farmed together in Hanover Township where they milked cows and raised beef cows. Suzanne also worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Waukon.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Hanover Catholic Church where she was involved with the Rosary Society. Suzanne enjoyed going for gator rides with her dog Diesel, watching TV and was a great cook. She loved decorating and buying lots of presents for her family for the Christmas holiday.
Suzanne also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her family was #1.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis, of Dorchester; her children: Jackie (Richard) Johnson of Waukon, Donnie Bresnahan of Dorchester, and Vicki (Todd) Mitchell of Waukon; six grandchildren: Ashley (Loren) Mitchell, Brandon (Morgan) Johnson, Devin (fiancée Hailey Regan) Johnson, Michael (Jessica) Mitchell, Marisa (Gabe) Dee, and Kaden Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren: Bexley, Witten, Leighton, and Lyla Mitchell, and Mya Dee, Grant, Gavin, and Colter Johnson, and baby Mitchell due in December; her siblings: Marlene (Robert) Meiners, John (Paula) Teff, and Barb (Mark) Williams; six sisters-in-law: Annie Teff, Donna Teff, Sandy Bresnahan, Lori Bresnahan, Marcia (Steve) Casey, and Sheryl (Rudy) Tekippe; and a brother-in-law, Bill Majhenich.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen Bresnahan, who died in 2022; five sisters: Ruth (Earl) Watry, Jean (Karl) Fetting, Phyllis (Dick) Knopes, Marianne (Wally) Mahr, and Janet Majhenich; three brothers: Gerry, Robert, and Harold Teff; and two brothers-in-law, Neil and Alan Bresnahan.
