Friday, September 13, The Bubble Hut in Lansing held its Grand Opening and received its “First Dollar” visit from representatives of Main Street Lansing.
Owner Marissah Wachter has been serving up healthy, energizing alternatives to soda and energy drinks since the business’ soft opening in June of this year. Wachter was inspired to open her own business after trying the Herbalife products.
“I fell in love with the products,” she said. “I went from drinking a 12 pack of Mountain Dew to one or two teas a day. And, I had no crash and didn’t feel bad after I switched.”
She says she also stuck to a meal plan through Herbalife and was able to lose weight and started to feel better. Wachter is an Herbalife distributor. Customers can find out more about the company and products from her, or they can simply come in and enjoy a drink at the business’ location at 200 Main Street in Lansing, in part of the former Milty’s restaurant building.
The business name, The Bubble Hut, was inspired by Wachter’s son, Oaklee. “He calls the boba pearls bubbles,” she explained.
Wachter is the mother of two special needs children. She grew up in Monona and currently lives in Prairie du Chien, WI. The family also shares its home with several different pets.
One of the bonuses of owning her own business is that Wachter’s kids, Lacee and Oaklee, can help out or come and hang out with Mom at work.
The Bubble Hut serves a variety of Herbalife products, including teas, meal replacement shakes, protein coffee drinks, and even a few high-protein snacks. They usually feature a couple different Lit Teas on Tap each day as well as a couple different flavors of boba pearls. Patrons can customize drinks by including add-ons, such as a collagen boost, hydration boost, protein boost and others.
Wachter noted that she attends weekly calls with her uplines to stay current in the latest Herbalife nutrition and news. There is also an annual Extravaganza, where Herbalife representatives all get together in one location to learn and exchange information and ideas.
Wachter is hoping to be able to expand her product line in the future and would like to someday be able to make healthy snack options in-house. In addition to providing healthier alternatives for drinks and snacks, The Bubble Hut is also a space for kids and teens to hang out in a healthy, safe environment.
One of the biggest perks of her business is being able to meet and connect with new people. There is a sofa and some tables and chairs, as well as chairs at the counter so that customers can relax and enjoy what the Bubble Hut has to offer.
“I really enjoy seeing kids being excited about having a healthy place to hang out,” she said.
For customers who might be in a bit of a time crunch, there is an option to call ahead and have an order ready for pick-up, 563-568-9528.
