Mary (Josie) Ehlert

Mary Josephine (Josie) Walleser Ehlert of Milton, WI, passed away suddenly in her home September 18, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held November 9, on Main Street in Lansing, at The Buck Stops Here Restaurant and Bar from 4-10 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Joan Walleser of Lansing; and her niece, Emily Walleser of Ravalli, MT.

Josie was the youngest of seven siblings and is survived by Tim Walleser (Gwen) of Janesville, WI, Linda Hartwich (Roger Jr.) of River Falls, WI, Leo Walleser (Ruth) of Menomonie, WI, Anne Rundall (James) of Amboy, IL, and Terry Walleser and Donald Walleser of Lansing.

Josie is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She spent hours doing crafts, taking photos and making clothing and blankets for their birthdays and holidays.

Josie was married to Ernie Ehlert, but they divorced. She had education and experience in photography, truck driving and security but found her passion in cooking. For the past several years, she prepared meals for nursing homes, several restaurants and a grade school.
