The 2024-2025 Kee boys basketball season is being looked to with great anticipation as the Hawks come off their best season in program history and return five of their six top statistical contributors to that trailblazing effort. Furthering that optimism is even further returning depth in the eight varsity letterwinners coming back from last season that account for exactly half of this winter’s total high school participation numbers and an even greater percentage of the 12 young men who will make up this season’s varsity roster.
Those eight letterwinning returnees feature a half dozen seniors that include Jordan Cota, Brayden Darling, Parker Leppert, Dalton Mudderman, Jarod Reams and Karsen Strong, along with the sophomore pair of Trey Cota and Tanner Troendle who made considerable varsity contributions as freshmen last winter. That veteran experience returning this year helped fuel the Hawks to a program-best win total in their 22-3 overall record last season, as well as additional program firsts of an Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) championship earned with a 15-1 UIC result and a Class 1A substate appearance that marks the deepest postseason run ever for the basketball Hawks - all while rewriting numerous program records along the way.
The basketball Hawks were scheduled to get their 2024-2025 campaign underway with a Tuesday, December 3 non-conference battle at Charles City before hosting Turkey Valley Friday, December 6. They will then host back-to-back contests at home against fellow Allamakee County squads, Waukon Monday, December 9 and Postville Tuesday, December 10, before playing at West Central Friday, December 13.
