Waukon girls wrestling team opens 2025 portion of its schedule with 14th-place finish at Osage Tournament

The Waukon girls wrestling team returned to the mat before returning to school from the recent holiday break, competing in the large, all-day Osage Tournament Thursday, January 2. With a total of 12 young ladies competing in the varsity level of the tournament and three more at the junior varsity level, the Lady Indians had four of their mat members wrestle to top-eight placewinnings recognized in the varsity tournament to lead the way to 43 team points and a 14th-place team finish in the 20-team tournament field.

Waukon’s wrestling ladies are next scheduled to host Charles City, South Winneshiek and Caledonia, MN Thursday, January 9 and then compete in the Central Elkader Tournament Friday, January 10. The Lady Indians will then compete in the Dubuque Senior Tournament Monday, January 13 before wrestling at Crestwood Thursday, January 16 and then Friday, January 17 at Postville.
