The Board of Directors of the Eastern Allamakee Community School District (EACSD) met at Kee High School Room in Lansing Monday, January 13. Board members present included Bobbie Goetzinger, Joe Manning, Melanie Mauss and Arla Wagner, with Heather Lutz absent. Also in at attendance were EACSD Superintendent Nick Trenkamp, PK-12 Principal Donna Thomas, and Board Secretary Michele Martin.
After President Goetzinger called the meeting to order, the board approved the agenda and authorized the January consent items, minutes of the December meeting, bills for January, Secretary’s Financial Report for December, and the Student Activity and Food Service December Reports. In personnel matters, the Board approved the retirement resignation of Susanne Herman at the end of the 2024-2025 school year and the Classified Early Retirement Package for the 2024-2025 school year.
Calendar dates were discussed. The board approved a change of date for its February meeting to Wednesday, February 12 at 7 p.m. Also, the first public hearing for the 2025-2026 school calendar will be held at that time as well.
Regarding the budget, the board approved a request to the school budget review committee for a modified supplemental amount of $13,672 for at-risk drop-out prevention. In other matters, the board approved the first reading of the following board policies: 102 - Equal Education Opportunity; 401.01 - Equal Employment Opportunity; 401.06 - Limitations To Employment References; 501.09 - Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy; 501.09r1 - Chronic Absenteeism And Truancy Regulation; 710.01r1 - School Food Program-School Nutrition Program; 710.01e1 - School Food Program-School Nutrition Program Notices Of Nondiscrimination; and 710.01e2 - School Food Program-School Nutrition Program Civil Rights Complaint Form.
