Jean Lamb

Jean M. Lamb, 91, of Waukon died Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Graveside services were held Saturday, February 8 at St. Mary’s Lycurgus Cemetery in rural Waukon with Conrad Rosendahl officiating.

Geraldine “Jean” Marcella Lamb was born March 29, 1933, in Lansing, the daughter of Anton Peter and Lenora May (Spores) Nierling. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon and attended Waukon schools. April 16, 1968, she married Alfred Lamb at the Silver Bells Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV.

Jean worked for Keebler Cookies in Denver, CO, packing cookies, from where she retired. Over the years, she lived in Waterloo, Dade City, FL, and Thorton, CO, before moving back to Waukon in 1990.

Jean was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She enjoyed several elk hunting and fishing trips with her husband and children.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Lamb of Dade City, FL, and Chip (Roxanne) Lamb of Lansing; two grandsons, Ryan (Felicia) Lamb and Cody Lamb; a granddaughter, Rachel Broad; two step-daughters, Mary Winkler and Alecia (Charles) Thomas; six step-grandchildren, Dennis Riley, Jay (Audra) Thorsten, Loni (Cal) Melton, Ashley Norby, Scotty Lee, and Charles “Trey” Thomas III; a sister, Letha Folsom; two brothers, Lyle Nierling and Tom Nierling; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred, in 1993; two step-daughters, Deb Lamb and Gail Taylor; and her siblings, Georgie, Chuck, Bob, David, and Kenneth Nierling, Mary Rosendahl, and Betty Snyder.

Honorary casketbearers were Aaron Folsom, Cody and Ryan Lamb, and Dave and Mike Nierling. Casketbearers were Conrad and James Rosendahl, Jeff Snyder, Shawn Moe, Nikki Folsom, and Paul Troendle.
