The annual Pops Concert will feature a night filled with music and student performances at the Waukon Middle School Gym this Friday, February 28, beginning at 7 p.m. The Allamakee Music Boosters invite the community to enjoy a diverse array of musical talent showcased by local students.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the door, but for those who want an even more special experience, tables can be reserved through the Allamakee Music Boosters. To reserve a table, contact Michele Huinker at 563-380-3467 or email acsdmusicboosters@gmail.com.
The evening will feature auditioned soloists, each bringing their unique touch to the stage. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the standout performers who will be taking the stage:
• Molly Peake will captivate the audience with her rendition of “The Rainbow Connection” from The Muppets. Get ready for a magical performance that will bring smiles and warmth to everyone in the room.
• Trinity Protsman will showcase her talent on the piano, performing “Little One” by Philip Sheppard. Her musicality and skill on the keys promise to make this a memorable moment.
• Eireann Goettel will belt out the emotional and powerful ballad “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele. Her voice will undoubtedly touch the hearts of all in attendance, making this a standout performance.
• Eva Whalen brings her ukulele to the stage with her performance of “I Don’t Know My Name” by Grace VanderWaal. Her combination of vocals and ukulele playing is sure to add a unique charm to the concert.
• Eeka Malla (Allamakee spelled backwards) will be performing an instrumental rock band arrangement of “Orion” by Metallica. The band of local high school students features Adrick Christensen on drums, Roland Melcher on Bass, with Gus Benjegerdes, Marcus Gebel and Cole Smedsrud on guitar.
• Memphis Miller will perform a medley of two songs: “Diamond Head” by J.R. Carroll and “Taken For a Fool” by Dylan Ault. He’ll be accompanied by Annie Ellingson on guitar, adding a rich musical layer to his soulful voice.
• Olivia Dougherty will sing and play the piano to “You Say” by Lauren Daigle. Her performance will showcase not only her vocal ability but her talent as a pianist, creating a moving performance for the audience to enjoy.
• Annie Ellingson will also perform a solo guitar piece, playing “Ozymandias” by Sammy Copley. Her guitar skills will shine as she brings this beautiful composition to life.
