Margaret “Meg” L. Dolan, 85, of New Albin died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at her home at White Pines Assisted Living in Blaine, MN. Margaret had a 10-year battle with brain and lung cancer; she was a true survivor who lived her life to its fullest.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin with Fr. Joseph Sevcik officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at church. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Margaret’s family and designations will be decided later.
Margaret “Meg” Louise Dolan was born March 24, 1939, in Lansing, the daughter of Nicholas and Marcella (Conway) Strub. She was baptized in Lansing and confirmed in New Albin at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Margaret graduated from New Albin High School in 1957. Margaret married Joe Fink and through that union had her three boys; they later divorced. While raising her family, she also worked numerous jobs in the New Albin and La Crosse, WI, area.
December 8, 1990, she married Thomas Edward Dolan at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Margaret finally added two girls to her family with stepdaughters Lisa and Lori. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her many friends, watching her boys play sports, going to movies with her sisters, a little casino time, fishing with Tom, and taking care of anyone who was in need. She also was active in all the many social activities with her White Pines family.
Survivors include her three sons: Jeff (Carole) Fink of Coon Rapids, MN, Mark Fink of Caledonia, MN, and Chris (Avis) Fink of Lino Lakes, MN; two stepdaughters: Lori (Brian) Aller of Cedar Rapids and Lisa (Tim) Romberger of Hinsdale, IL; two grandchildren, Elijah and Charlie Fink; six step-grandchildren: Hayley (Matt) Nelson, Taylor Deutmeyer, Sam and Will Romberger, Michelle (Austin) Gasper, and Matt Allar; one great-grandchild, Bennett Nelson; and three sisters: Marcella Hale and Bernice (Linus) Ott, both of New Albin, and Ann Thimmesch of Topeka, KS. Margaret also is blessed with many brothers- and sisters-in-law, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Marcella; her husband Tom in 2020; her brothers, Chuck, Earl, and Dan Strub; her first husband, Joe Fink; and many in-laws.
Casketbearers are Eli Fink, Chad Ihde, Derek Dolan, Russ Dolan, MJ Dolan, Steve Colsch, Charlie Fink.
