Those interested in being appointed to vacant Waukon City Council At-Large seat need to fill out Letter of Interest

Anyone interested in being appointed to the current At-Large vacancy on the Waukon City Council created by the recent passing of council member Kevin Johnson will need to complete an Expression of Interest Letter available through the Waukon City Hall or on the City of Waukon website at https://www.cityofwaukon.com/. This completed form should then be returned to the Waukon City Clerk’s office either by emailing cityclerk@cityofwaukon.com or dropping it off at City Hall.

Whoever is appointed to this seat will serve until the November 2025 election. Someone can be appointed even if they prefer not to run for election on the November ballot. The person elected in November would take the oath of office and serve from November for the new four-year term of the At-Large seat. If someone is appointed and wants to be on the ballot, they would need to submit the election paperwork required.

The letter of interest should be returned by Noon Friday, March 28. Appointment to this seat is scheduled for the first Waukon City Council meeting in April, which is scheduled for Monday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m.
