Level 10 gymnast Ava Hooten of rural Waterville has once again earned her place among the nation’s best, qualifying for the 2025 USA Gymnastics Development Program Level 10 National Championships, set to take place May 8-11 in Salt Lake City, UT. Hooten secured her spot by achieving the qualification score and finishing within the top seven individuals all-around at the USA Gymnastics Region 4 Championships held April 11-13 in Minneapolis, MN.
Region 4 is comprised of gymnasts from seven states, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, and Nebraska. Hooten competes for TNT Gymnastics out of Richland Center, WI and this is her second consecutive year qualifying for Nationals.
Competing in her senior season, Hooten has delivered a stand-out year, highlighted by earning a career-high score of 9.8 on floor at the Altius Pink Meet and winning a Wisconsin State Championship title on balance beam. Over the course of her club career, she has captured five State Championship titles and seven Region 4 Championship titles.
Reflecting on her journey, Hooten says, “I’m so excited to be able to close out my club career at Nationals.”
Hooten has signed with the University of Pennsylvania, to continue her gymnastics career next season at the NCAA Division I collegiate level. She will graduate in May of this year with the Waukon High School Class of 2025.
