Winters, Mudderman, Strong and Mohn rewrite own shuttle hurdle relay record in both meets this week
The Kee girls track and field team competed in a pair of meets hosted by fellow Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) squads this past week, placing third at both meets. The Lady Hawks scored 85 team points to finish third in the Clayton Ridge Invitational Tuesday, April 29 before scoring 65 team points to also finish in third place at the MFL/MarMac Invitational Thursday, May 1.
Both meets also featured a continued trend of new school records for the Lady Hawks. The shuttle hurdle relay team of junior Addison Winters, sophomores Rylee Mudderman and Lilah Strong, and freshman Morgan Mohn continued to lower its own school record at both meets, clocking in at 1:11.29 at Clayton Ridge but then bettering that new mark once again at MFL/MarMac with a time of 1:11.01, with both of those efforts earning gold medals for Kee.
The Hawks were next scheduled to wrap up their regular season schedule with the Edgewood-Colesburg Invitational Monday, May 5 followed by the Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) Meet Thursday, May 8 hosted by MFL/MarMac. Kee will then prepare for its Class 1A State Qualifying Meet Thursday, May 15 at Edgewood-Colesburg, with details of that season extender or ender being printed in a shaded box elsewhere on the Wednesday, May 7, 2025 Sports pages.
