White Haus Social offers new venue for celebrations of a lifetime ... The new White Haus Social celebration venue opened its doors in early May at 76 16th Avenue NW along the north edge of Waukon, near Green Valley Getaway. Ownership partners John and Jess Jennerjohn of Waukon and Michael and Erica Steinberg of Manchester created the venue as a host site for milestone celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, graduations and other life events, as well as a location to host just about any other event that can be imagined. An abundance of space and natural light evident in the photos above and below make the venue a very versatile and welcoming environment suitable for any celebration.

A brand new venue for hosting celebratory and other social or business events has opened its doors as of May 3 of this year, as White Haus Social has begun operation at its 76 16th Avenue NW location in Waukon, next to Green Valley Getaway on the north edge of Waukon. Partnership owners John and Jess Jennerjohn of Waukon and Michael and Erica Steinberg of Manchester have opened the doors to their new venture and want to offer people the opportunity to celebrate their life’s milestones and just about any other gathering that can be dreamed up in a versatile and welcoming atmosphere they’ve created.
“We are excited to begin hosting weddings, birthday celebrations, graduation parties, corporate events, concerts, and any other gatherings you can imagine,” the partnership team shared. “We believe this will be a wonderful addition to Waukon and the surrounding communities.”
The Jennerjohns are no strangers to business ownership in the community, as they were also part of a partnership that purchased the former Waukon Harley-Davidson and Waukon Powersports in 2021 and have built them into the thriving Iron Hill Harley-Davidson/Powersports along State Highway 9 just south of Waukon. Much like that business venture has grown, so has the Jennerjohns’ love for the community which they now call home. With White Haus Social, they want to share all the special attributes of their community with those celebrating their special occasions.
“When we bought Iron Hill Harley-Davidson/Powersports, we quickly grew fond of northeastern Iowa and the Waukon community,” they shared. “Our goal was to establish a brand new venue in our small town that would serve the needs of everyone near and far and help support our local businesses. We believe Waukon has a lot to offer our clients and are eager for them to discover the charm of our community. We believe that northeastern Iowa has some of the most breathtaking views - after all, it’s often referred to as God’s country. And we wanted people to be able to experience it.”
In wanting to share the beauty of the local area, the Jennerjohns and Steinbergs incorporated several amenities into their new venue that not only allowed for the enjoyment of the surrounding area but also to be able to take advantage of its natural beauty on days meant to be memorable. They wanted to incorporate all of that into a venue that also offers versatility and opportunity to meet the needs of those celebrating any special occasion.
“We wanted lots of natural light, which meant a lot of windows and a neutral aesthetic to cater to any wedding style,” they noted. “And we wanted to additionally provide convenience for our couples by offering spaces for preparation, ceremony, reception, and photography.”
Even though the creation of such a venue has meant a great deal of planning, hard work and sacrifice, the partners noted they have encountered an even greater amount of enjoyment in the process and those involved in it. “Definitely most rewarding has been connecting with other businesses, meeting new people and the excitement about our venue for our community,” they shared.
Even within the greatest challenges faced during this adventure from idea to ideal there was still a great deal of satisfaction in not only making the journey but also taking the journey with others who wanted to utilize the new venue once it was completed. “Trying to book weddings when we didn’t have a building yet was our greatest challenge, not everyone could see the vision without a physical building in front of them, which we understood,” they explained. “But we are so happy our vision has come to life and our potential clients can come tour our building!”
Even though the initial dream has been realized with the opening of White Haus Social, the partners still have bigger plans to make the venue even more attractive and accommodating. “We would like to asphalt our parking lot, add on another patio and have firepits, string lights, and outdoor games for guests to enjoy,” the creators of the new venue further envisioned.
John and Jess Jennerjohn live in Waukon. They’ve been married for 14 years and have four children, Kale (19), Avayah (12), Knox (9), and Nash (6), as well as three Golden Retrievers. Michael and Erica Steinberg live in Manchester and have been married 12 years. They have three children, Everly (10), Hadlee (8), and Enslee (7), in addition to two dogs.
