Daniel Fisher

May 31, 2025, Daniel M. Fisher set out on his final Harley ride. His adventurous spirit and love for the open road will not be forgotten.

A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lance Park in Twin Lakes, WI for family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues of Dan. A second celebration will be held for Dan’s friends and neighbors in Iowa at a future date.

Dan was born September 15, 1960, in Burlington, WI, to John and Donnafae Russell Fisher. January 15, 1994, in Kenosha, WI, Dan was united in marriage with Tura Louise Poreden. Dan grew up and raised his family in Kenosha County before he and Tura found a love for the Driftless Region and moved to the banks of the Mississippi River in Lansing.

Dan had more hobbies than he could count including giving scenic river tours where he would often suggest taking the “shortcut”, long motorcycle rides, and bicycle rides with his grandchildren. Dan was an amazing conversationalist and could connect with anyone. He could combine optimism, compassionate listening, and logical thinking to help solve the problem of the day. Dan wouldn’t miss the chance to catch a live band or grab Saturday morning breakfast. He had a gift for capturing the moments, often reminding everyone to “take the picture”.

Dan was a man of many careers and talents - an entrepreneur, a baker, a teller, a landscaper, a consultant, a writer, a photographer, a salesman; he could do it all and was darn good at it too. Most recently, Dan was the top sales agent for Groff Allstate Insurance in Pewaukee, WI where Jason Groff looked at him proudly as a partner in his business.

Dan was also a tireless community leader, twice past President of the Westosha Kiwanis Club where he received the George F. Hixon Fellowship, the highest honor bestowed upon Kiwanians, and founded the Kiwanis Tree Sale; a former Paddock Lake Village Trustee; a former member of the Lansing (Iowa) Library Board; and former Executive Director of Main Street Lansing. His wife Tura referred to him lovingly as “Do it all Danny”.

Dan always found a way to bring in laughter when hearing the latest and greatest from all those that he loved. Dan is survived by the love of his life, Tura; Brenda Fisher, the devoted mother of his three oldest children; his children, David (Jessie), Bradley, Danielle, and Lauren Fisher; six grandchildren, Riley, Carter, Chase, Charlie Fae, Eddy, and Emmett; his mother-in-law, Patsy Poreden; three sisters, Diane (Jack) Smeelink of Grand Rapids, MI, Marcia (Don) Payson of Paddock Lake, WI, and Marilyn (Jeff) Peterson of Elkhorn, WI; his sister-in-law, Pam Fisher of Camp Lake, WI; many nieces and nephews who knew him lovingly as “THE Uncle Dan”; and many, many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Donnafae Fisher; his sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Scott Morton; his brother, Steve Fisher; his brother-in-law, Steve Banas; his father-in-law, George Poreden; and his good friend, Tommy Paddock.
