Kee baseball team’s busy week results in split at Class 3A Decorah, sweep of UIC doubleheader at South Winn, two losses at own Shooky Fink Tournament

The Kee baseball team put together another busy schedule of six games this past week, ending up with half of those in the win column to currently hold a 7-3 overall record thus far that includes a 2-0 start to Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play. The Hawks opened this past week splitting a doubleheader at Class 3A Decorah Monday, May 26 by pulling out a 7-6 win in game one before falling in game two, 4-0. Kee’s start to UIC play proved successful with a doubleheader sweep at South Winneshiek by scores of 10-0 in five innings and 5-3 Thursday, May 29 before the Hawks were dealt a pair of losses at their own Shooky Fink Tournament Saturday, May 31, falling to Wapsie Valley by a 2-0 count before suffering a similar fate, 8-1, to Class 2A fifth-rated Northeast Goose Lake.

The Hawks were next scheduled to play a full slate this week, hosting Clayton Ridge Monday, June 2 and North Fayette Valley Tuesday, June 3 before playing at Waukon Wednesday, June 4 and at MFL/MarMac Thursday, June 5 and then taking part in the Iowa Valley Triangular Saturday, June 7. Kee’s boys will then host Turkey Valley Monday, June 9 and play at Postville Thursday, June 12 before playing in the Saints Invitational at St. Ansgar Saturday, June 14.
