Waukon baseball team’s 1-2 start to 2025 campaign includes 3-2 home victory over Cascade, losses to Starmont and Sumner-Fredericksburg

The Waukon baseball team got its 2025 season off to an initially promising start but ended up having a season-opening victory be the only game to end up in the win column in this year’s opening week of play. The Indians opened this season with a 3-2 home win over Cascade Tuesday, May 27 before having a 5-3 result get away from them at home against Starmont Wednesday, May 28 and then falling to Class 2A 10th-rated Sumner-Fredericksburg Friday, May 30 by an 11-2 final result.

Remaining at home this week, the Indians were next scheduled to host Decorah Tuesday, June 3, Kee Wednesday, June 4 and Charles City Friday, June 6. They will then play at North Fayette Valley Monday, June 9, at New Hampton Tuesday, June 10 and at Crestwood Friday, June 13.
