The Allamakee Community School District Board of Directors met for a special meeting Friday morning, June 6. The agenda included several personnel matters.
Pending a satisfactory background check, the board approved the following personnel hiring recommendations for the 2025-2026 school year: Morgan Johnson, 2nd grade teacher; Nicole Decker, preschool teacher; Kevin Johnson, head girls varsity wrestling coach; Kelli Olson, TLC Instructional Coach; and Lauren Drew, 2nd grade PLC Teacher Leader.
The board also approved two resignations. Buildings and Grounds Director Bill Hennessy resigned from that position, effective June 3, 2025, a position he has held for the past 11 years within the district. Kristi Pittman also resigned from her paraprofessional position within the district. The board also approved a transfer for Tyler Scholl from assistant varsity girls track coach to head varsity girls track coach, following the resignation of head coach Bob Wasson due to retirement.
In regard to Hennessy’s resignation from his Building and Grounds Director position, the ACSD Board issued the following statement:
“The Allamakee Community School District recently received the resignation of Mr. Hennessy, who had facilitated the role of Buildings and Grounds Director for the District. The Allamakee Community School District Board of Directors has approved the acceptance of this resignation. We thank Mr. Hennessy for his years of service.”
