Kee baseball team plays to undefeated week that includes three road wins that keep the Hawks unbeaten in UIC play

The Kee baseball team played to an undefeated week in five games on its schedule for the week, adding three more victories to its undefeated Upper Iowa Conference season at this point in the summer. Prior to this past undefeated week, the Hawks split two games at the Iowa Valley Triangular in Marengo Saturday, June 7, edging out Tipton by a 10-8 result before falling to the host Iowa Valley Tigers by just a 7-6 count in eight innings, with details of those two contests being included in this week’s Kee baseball coverage.

This past week for the baseball Hawks began with an Upper Iowa Conference doubleheader sweep at Turkey Valley Monday, June 9 by scores of 14-3 and 13-1 before Kee finished off Postville by a 14-0 mercy-rule count in five innings Thursday, June 12. The Hawks finished off their week with a pair of non-conference victories in weekend tournament action, shutting out both Charles City, 15-0 in three innings, and the host Saints of St. Ansgar, 8-0, at the St. Ansgar Invitational Saturday, June 14.

Holding a 17-4 season record, including a yet unblemished mark of 8-0 in Upper Iowa Conference play, the Hawks were next scheduled to host MFL/MarMac Monday, June 16 and South Winneshiek Tuesday, June 17 before playing two varsity games at home Wednesday, June 18, first playing Waukon at 5 p.m. before making up a June 3 home postponement against North Fayette Valley at 7 p.m. Kee’s diamond dwellers will then play at Clayton Ridge Thursday, June 19 and host Osage Saturday, June 21 to finish out that week. The Hawks’ following week will include a doubleheader at North Fayette Valley Monday, June 23 before playing two games at Riverfront Stadium, home of the Waterloo Bucks, Wednesday, June 25 against Burlington Notre Dame and Roland Story and then playing two games at the Prange Classic hosted by Ankeny Centennial High School Saturday, June 28 against West Lyon and Coon Rapids-Bayard.
