Anderson-Busness Family Reunion set for September 14

The descendants of two pioneer families of Allamakee County are planning a reunion for Sunday, September 14 at the Waterville Community Center, the former Waterville School. 

In 1857, Martin Anderson Bekkesven came to America where he married Anna Christoffersdatter Erstad, who also came in 1857. Three of the eleven children of Martin and Anna Anderson married three of the children of another pioneer family, Ole D. Busness and Martha Holgersdatter Djonne, who came to America in 1859.

Anyone who recognizes any of the following couples as being part of their family tree is invited to the reunion September 14 at the Waterville Community Center:

Martin Anton Anderson married Anna Christopherson
Mathilda Anderson married Edward Busness
Clara Marie Anderson married E.T. Rikansrud

Oline Busness married Harold Hanson
Julia Busness married Ole Hegg
Caroline Busness married Ben Mekkelson
Nels Busness married Laura N. Anderson.

Come share old memories and make new ones. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. Broasted chicken will be furnished along with plates, cups, silverware and drinks. Please bring a dish to pass. A short meeting and program will follow dinner. Those attending should feel free to share any pictures or memorabilia about their family members.
