Kee football team battles early but opens District 4 play with 63-20 defeat at home to top-10 rated Easton Valley

The start to this season’s Eight-Player District 4 schedule for the Kee football team began with the Hawks facing Easton Valley but ultimately proved to be a mountain to climb as the traditionally strong River Hawk program visited the bluffs of Lansing for a rare Thursday evening high school football game September 4. The host Hawks answered two early tallies by their top-10 rated guests, but Easton Valley continued to deliver those blows, scoring on all but its final two possessions of the ballgame while Kee fell off its earlier pace-keeping result to end up being dealt a 63-20 loss in that District 4 season opener.

The Hawks will be on the road for the first time this season, as Kee travels to Edgewood-Colesburg this Friday, September 12 to face its second consecutive top-10 ranked District 4 colleague. The Vikings come off a State Play-Off quarterfinals advancement from last season and have started this fall’s campaign with convincing wins of 65-14 over Clarksville in Week One and 46-29 at Springville this past Friday.
