The Kee volleyball team played a total of six matches in a busy past week, including three each in both dual and tournament competition, and came up shy of the win column in all six of those matches but did secure the Lady Hawks’ first set victory of this season in Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play. Kee’s netters first fell to a pair of UIC teams from the Large School division of that conference in a home quadrangular Tuesday, September 30, falling to both South Winneshiek and MFL/MarMac in two sets each, before playing their closest dual match of the season at Postville Thursday, October 2 in first falling behind in two sets before splitting a pair of 25-23 set final results to earn this season’s first UIC set victory for the Hawks but ultimately surrendering the match in four sets.

The Lady Hawks then took part in the Oelwein Tournament Saturday, October 4 to wrap up their busy week, falling in three matches in the tournament’s pool play round to have their tournament day ended early. Kee’s girls dropped matches to Oelwein, Alburnett and the eventual tournament runner-up, North Butler.

The Hawks were next scheduled to play in a quadrangular at Waukon Tuesday, October 7 that will also include Crestwood, Postville and the host Indians before competing in the Riceville Classic Saturday, October 11. They will then wrap up their regular season with a final home match against Turkey Valley Tuesday, October 14 before playing at West Central Thursday, October 16. Kee’s girls are then scheduled to begin Class 1A Regional Tournament play Monday, October 20 at a site and against an opponent yet to be announced.
