Main Street Lansing recently welcomed Quincy Johnson and Pinnacle Wealth Management to their new storefront at 224 Main Street in Lansing. A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration was held Thursday, October 15 to officially introduce Johnson and his business to the downtown community.

A HOMETOWN RETURN
Johnson is no stranger to Lansing - he grew up there and has always admired the town’s strong sense of community. “The generosity of people here is unmatched,” he shared. “Neighbors are always willing to help those in need, and that’s something special you don’t find everywhere.”

After years away, Johnson and his wife, Shayla, along with their daughters, Isla (5) and Ivey (3), knew they wanted to build their future where family and friends were close. “We love it here,” Johnson said. “We’re very family-oriented, and a good portion of both our families live right here in the community.”

When they’re not working, the Johnsons enjoy spending time outdoors - hunting, exercising, and soaking up time together. They also continue to operate a few businesses in nearby New Albin, balancing their love for entrepreneurship with their commitment to community.

FROM HEALTHCARE TO FINANCIAL CARE
Before entering the world of finance, Johnson spent much of his career in healthcare - most notably at Mayo Clinic. “Working in healthcare taught me the value of teamwork and compassion,” he said. “I loved caring for people, and in a way, I still get to do that - just through a different lens.”

His passion for financial planning grew out of his own experience as a small business owner. “I realized how much I didn’t know,” Johnson said. “Owning a business in a small town takes grit, and having a sound financial plan can make all the difference.” After being a client of Pinnacle Wealth Management himself, Johnson was invited to join the team - a moment he describes as “surreal and humbling.”

He credits his colleagues as mentors who taught him that financial planning isn’t just about numbers - it’s about trust, transparency, and building relationships with those you serve. “If you don’t have trust, you won’t have a future in this career,” he said.

INVESTING IN LANSING’S FUTURE
Opening his office in downtown Lansing was an easy decision. “I care deeply about this community,” Johnson shared. “This is home. I wanted to be part of something that helps local business owners, farmers, and families plan for a strong financial future - especially during challenging times like the recent bridge closure.”

At Pinnacle Wealth Management, Johnson and his team specialize in helping business owners align their personal and business financial strategies. “With the ups and downs that come with small-town life, having a plan is more important than ever,” he noted.

He hopes visitors to his new office feel a sense of compassion and trust. “We live in the communities we serve,” he said. “Our clients aren’t just numbers - they’re neighbors, friends, and family. We genuinely want what’s best for them.”

COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL SERVICES
At Pinnacle Wealth Management, clients can expect holistic financial guidance with a personalized approach. Services include a wide array of financial services, investment management and risk management services.

“Helping people make sense of their money is at the heart of what we do,” Johnson said. “Our goal is to provide thoughtful guidance and a helping hand so our clients can plan confidently for their future.”

LOOKING AHEAD
In his first year, Johnson hopes to focus on education and clarity - helping locals cut through misinformation about financial planning. “No two plans are the same,” he explained. “Just because something worked for one person doesn’t mean it’s right for another. Our goal is to help ensure Lansing’s small businesses and generational farms remain strong for years to come.”

His best advice for those just starting their financial planning journey? “Start now. Even small steps today can make a big difference tomorrow. And if you’re unsure, find someone you trust to guide you.”
