Brinks celebrate 43rd wedding anniversary with donation to Food Shelf ...

Greg and Donna Brink of Waukon celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary Thursday, December 4 in a unique way that provides evidence of the love, caring and support that has been their foundation for 43 years of marriage. To help commemorate the day of their wedding that took place in 1982 - 43 years ago, the Brinks donated 43 one-pound packages of hamburger to the Allamakee County Food Shelf on the day of their anniversary. Greg Brink said the 43 pounds of hamburger comes from grass-fed beef and is part of what he and his wife have received as payment from a neighbor for renting land and a shed on their rural Waukon property. He said they wanted to share some of that bounty with those who could really use the additional food support, especially during the upcoming holiday season and in light of recent events that impacted the food and other means of support that families and individuals who are less fortunate typically rely on.
