Each year on Giving Tuesday Peoples State Bank presents donations to local community food pantries in the area. For this year, Peoples State Bank donated a total of $9,500 to local food pantries, including to the West Grant Lions Club, Clayton County Food Shelf, Coulee Cap Food Pantry, Gays Mills Food Pantry, Lancaster Food Pantry, Living Faith Food Pantry and Allamakee County Food Shelf. Pictured in the submitted photo above taken at the donation presentation to the Allamakee County Food Shelf are, left to right, Lesa Moose of Peoples State Bank, Allamakee County Food Shelf volunteers Kate Wooden, Dennis Nebendahl and Mary Axmear, and Peggy Berns of Peoples State Bank.
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. Giving Tuesday is always the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Peoples State Bank wants to encourage others to join the movement and give, which can be done in many different ways – whether through time, a donation, making someone smile or the power of a voice in the local community.
