The Waukon boys basketball team continued its winning ways to start the season, as the Indians added another win to its early-season undefeated stroke when they hosted Clayton Ridge in Upper Iowa Conference play Tuesday, December 16. Suffering its only deficit very early in the first half, and holding off an Eagle charge early in the second half, the bucket Tribe survived both of those three-point-aided efforts to remain undefeated on the season with a 56-41 victory.
The Indians had a Thursday, December 18 home game with Decorah postponed to February 5 due to winter weather and were also scheduled to play at West Central Friday, December 19, with results of that game to be printed in the December 31 edition of The Standard due to an earlier print deadline. The Waukon boys will return to the court after the holidays with a Saturday, January 3 non-conference game against Grand Meadow, MN at Luther College in Decorah.
