Sophomore pair of Kolton Grotegut, Brock Stortz wrestle to UIC Runner-Up honors
The Waukon boys wrestling team began to wind down its regular season this past week, wrestling one final home dual meet before competing in the annual Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) Tournament. The Indians first wrapped up their home schedule with a final dual meet, defeating Arcadia, WI Thursday, January 29 by a final score of 42-31. The mat Tribe then competed in the Upper Iowa Conference Tournament Saturday, January 31, finishing fourth as a team and having a couple matmen wrestle their way to UIC runner-up finishes.
The Indians are next scheduled to wrap up their regular season schedule with a double-dual at Prairie du Chien, WI Thursday, February 5. They will then prepare for their Class 2A District Tournament at Osage Saturday, February 14.
