To the Editor:

The non-profit government watchdog Common Cause has sued the current administration 37 times since the beginning of the second term for actions either unethical, illegal, immoral or just plain vindictive.

So many activities have slipped by under the radar, not making the media reporting. Some examples: Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) youngsters, many of them his employees, have gained access to all of our private information, a huge ethical concern. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is demanding that states turn over their voting rolls so they can purge the voters who do not support them. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has backslid on clean air and water regulations, allowing big manufacturers to pollute with impunity, eliminating incentives for clean energy and pushing coal and oil.

Immigration is discouraged unless you can fork over a million dollars to the administration for a “gold visa”. They have canceled funding for health research, like cancers and vaccines, and shut down the Job Corps, another great program.

Other outrageous actions include opening our precious wilderness areas to road building, oil exploration and timber logging, all for the profit of rich donors; who, I might add, are benefiting from the golden ballroom illegally replacing the East Wing of the Whitehouse.

The actions of this president clearly show the administration has no compassion for the majority of the American people or the environment, and no moral compass.

The answer to this nightmare lies in all Americans eligible to vote, do so! We need to replace members of congress who allow this lunacy to continue with new people who say “enough is enough” and restore our country to one we can be proud of. A country that protects the constitution, its citizens and those wishing to become citizens. A country that protects the environment and the rule of law, and returns to a true democracy, where everyone is treated equally.

History shows us that these members of congress tend to be people who think about the citizens rather than the republic, and their own power.
