The Waukon girls track and field team almost got a full pair of meets in this past week, but did end up claiming a pair of runner-up team finishes in both meets. The Lady Indians completed a full meet in placing second at the Crestwood Invitational Tuesday, April 21 before having the West Delaware Invitational rained out with just four events left but ending up with another runner-up team finish in that meet through the 15 events that were completed. The Waukon girls also had their 4x100 relay squad compete at the Drake Relays in Des Moines Saturday morning, April 25, placing 50th in that fleet-of-foot elite collection of 96 teams and breaking a school record more than 20 years old in the process.
The Lady Indians were next scheduled to host their own Indian Relays Tuesday, April 28 before their schedule splits the squad between the Crestwood Co-Ed Invitational and the MFL/MarMac Invitational Thursday, April 30. They will then compete in the Edgewood-Colesburg Invitational Monday, May 4 before taking part in the Upper Iowa Conference Meet hosted Thursday, May 7 by Clayton Ridge in Guttenberg.
