Home ›Waukon softball team plays to doubleheader split at West Central, suffers pair of sweeps at South Winneshiek and NFV Tournament
The Waukon softball team played through six games this past week, putting one of those games in the win column. The diamond Tribe dropped a pair of games at South Winneshiek Monday, June 1 by scores of 9-0 and 8-5 before splitting two games at West Central Wednesday, June 3, falling in game one by a 7-4 result before winning the nightcap, 3-1. The week wrapped up with two losses Saturday, June 6 at the North Fayette Valley Tournament, with the Waukon girls first falling to Boyer Valley by a 5-2 result before also coming up a bit shy against Waverly-Shell Rock, 4-0.
The softball Indians were next scheduled to play an Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) varsity doubleheader at MFL/MarMac Monday, June 8 before hosting Postville for the same Wednesday, June 10. They will then host New Hampton for a varsity doubleheader Monday, June 15 before playing at Decorah Tuesday, June 16 and then at Kee Wednesday, June 17, prior to competing in the West Delaware Invitational Friday and Saturday, June 19-20.
