Supervisors address solid waste matters with approval of garbage truck and recycling trailer purchases, main site hauling contract before touring areas in County Courthouse

The Allamakee County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Monday, August 10 to address a full agenda of matters including the consideration of the use of the county credit card for a hotel reservation relating to a conference, the discussion of agenda management software options, and the discussion and consideration of options relating to the county’s solid waste contract.
The meeting was called to order by Board of Supervisors Chairperson Tom Clark with Supervisors Dan Byrnes and Dennis Keatley present. During Public Comment, Byrnes made note of the 8K Walk/Run and 5K Walk/Run held Saturday, August 8 as part of the annual Fish Days celebration in Lansing. Byrnes noted that it was a record turn-out for the Walk/Run events held during Fish Days with Byrnes also noting that Allamakee County Zoning Administrator Stephanie Runkle was a first-place 5K female finisher in her age division.
Following the time allotted for Public Comment, the meeting moved into the notification of electronically filed Manure Management Plans/Updates (eMMP) by Wayne and Shelly Weber Farm, Gruber Ridge LLC, GLH Pork, and Millerway. Clark noted that the public is welcome to direct questions to the County Auditor’s office relating to viewing these plans and updates online. No official action was required relating to this public information matter.
