Kee football team scores second highest point total in its eight-player history for second straight game with 80-6 Homecoming triumph over Calamus-Wheatland

Second quarter touchdown catch ... Kee football senior Aleks Stankovich cradles a catch that he would take to the end zone for a 37-yard touchdown reception in the Hawks’ 80-6 Homecoming win over Calamus-Wheatland Friday, September 25. In addition to this lone reception that went the distance, Stankovich also carried the ball three times in the ballgame for 11 yards on offense and wrapped up two solo tackles on defense as well. For the second consecutive game, the Kee football team blasted the scoreboard with its second most points ever scored in an eight-man football game, putting up another 80 points that ranks second only to an 85-20 win at Cedar Valley Christian in 2012. Last week’s other second-best total was racked up in an 80-52 District 4 road win at Central Elkader, and that same winning number shined bright on the home scoreboard to make for the happiest of Homecomings Friday, September 25 with an 80-6 Hawk triumph over a Calamus-Wheatland (C-W) team still in search of its first win this season.

“That was our most complete game of the season,” Kee football head coach Chad Winters praised. “Offensively, we executed at a high level, special teams contributed in a big way with field position and scored on a punt return, and defensively that was the best we have done communicating, attacking, and finishing all season.”

The Hawks are next scheduled to host Springville this Friday, October 2. The Orioles bring an even, 3-3 season record into the contest that includes three consecutive wins in District 4 play over Easton Valley, 62-18, Calamus-Wheatland, 48-8, and Central Elkader this past Friday, September 25, 30-20.
