Brea Katrin ...
Everyone is invited to join area youth and fellow community members on athletic fields across the nation Wednesday, October 7 in sharing their Christian faith with other students and the general public for this year’s Fields of Faith event. The local event is now in its 15th year and will have live music beginning at 6:15 p.m., with featured speakers to begin at 7 p.m. at the Waukon High School football field that October 7 evening, or in the Waukon High School gym in the event of inclement weather.
Featured speaker for this year’s Fields of Faith event in Waukon will be Brea Katrin, a former NCAA Division I soccer athlete at Princeton University, where she served as captain of the women’s soccer team, later becoming a two-time Canadian National Soccer Champion, and now continuing to be a lifelong athlete. After years of debilitating chronic illness, Katrin was left bedridden and searching for answers, ultimately finding those answers through Jesus Christ after a lifetime of atheism. Today, she works to help others find hope and recovery. She enjoys running, coaching soccer, studying the Bible, and looks forward to sharing her personal testimony of God’s redemption story.
In addition to Katrin, several area high school seniors will also be presenting their own testimonies of faith in their young lives that evening. Sharing their own messages of faith will be Nora Davis, Brynn Weymiller, Reegan Benzing and Kaiden Lanz from Waukon High School, Daniel Jones from Kee High School, and Bill Fullhart from Decorah High School. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
