Voters in the Tuesday, November 6 General Election who are unable to go to the polls that Election Day may vote absentee prior to the election. In-person absentee voting can be accomplished at the Allamakee County Auditor’s Office in the Allamakee County Courthouse in Waukon through 4 p.m. Monday, November 5 during the office's regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Allamakee County Auditor’s Office will also be open for in-person absentee voting this Saturday, October 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again Saturday, November 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To request an absentee ballot by mail, area residents may use the official form available at the Allamakee County Auditor’s Office; on the Allamakee County website, www.co.allamakee.ia.us, under the Auditor tab; or at the Secretary of State’s website, www.sos.iowa.gov. Those ballots may then be returned by mail to: Allamakee County Commissioner of Elections, 110 Allamakee Street, Waukon, IA 52172. The last day to request an absentee ballot from the Allamakee County Auditor's Office by mail for the November 6 General Election is Friday, November 2.
