Allamakee Ecumenical Choir to present "A Christmas Festival" this Sunday in Waukon

The Allamakee Ecumenical Choir will present "A Christmas Festival" service this Sunday, December 9 at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 101 Second Street SW in Waukon. Featured in this year's concert will be the choir's performance of Benjamin Britten's "Ceremony of Carols" with soloists Nicole Gaunitz, Sarah Hagen, Sarah Holmes and Vickie Larson and accompanied by Emily Wonder, principal harpist with the Luther College Symphony Orchestra.
Area clergy will read the Christmas Story with carols sung by the choirs and congregation while accompanied by organ and trumpets. Choral numbers will be presented by the Ecumenical Choir and Ecumenical Children’s Choir. Musical selections will also be presented by the St. John’s Lutheran Church Youth and Senior Handbell Choirs. The program is prepared and directed by James Bieber. The public is invited to attend and share in this joyous community celebration of Christmas. A reception will follow in the church basement.
