Will celebrate 45-year anniversary of vows with friends and family

Chuck and Fran Luther of Waukon, married June 14, 1955, will soon celebrate 45 years of marriage. In recognition of the milestone, an open house and dinner, hosted by their family, has been planned Sat., June 10. Those who wish to join in the celebration should join at the former site of Martin Brothers Furniture, located on Allamakee Street in Waukon, at 6:30 p.m.


Turners to celebrate golden anniversary of wedding vows

Milton and Mary Turner were married June 11, 1950, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Monona. In honor of their upcoming golden anniversary, the couple will join in a private dinner hosted by their family. Open house planned in honor of 50th wedding anniversary of local couple

John and Marge Baxter of rural Waukon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 25, with an open house at the Waukon Fairgrounds Pavilion. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and feature music by the Toe Tappers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The community is invited to help the couple in their celebration. The couple requests no gifts.
John Baxter and Marjorie Slattery, both of Waukon, were married June 21, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon.
The couple’s children include Tom (Beth) Baxter, Tony (Mary) Baxter, Katie (Jerry) Weipert, Jim (Charlene) Baxter, and Jerry Baxter, all of Waukon; Sue (Sam) Bechen of Dubuque; Ann (Mitch) Kunkel and Peggy DeNeve of Solon; Mike (Kristian) Baxter of Readlyn; the late Nancy Baxter; Linda (Terry) Fehr of Newton; and Barb Baxter of Cedar Rapids. They have 27 grandchildren.

Anniversary open house will celebrate 50 years of marriage
