Annual New Albin Days celebration scheduled to take place July 20-22

New Albin Days is scheduled to be in full swing this Friday through Sunday, July 20-22. The annual celebration will kick off with some softball and baseball games for area youngsters Wednesday, July 18 and throughout the day Thursday, July 19 before a full slate of activities begins Friday and carries on through Sunday.
This year's celebration will feature a Miss New Albin Pageant, which will be held from 5-6 p.m. Friday, July 20 and crown Miss New Albin 2012. Featured music acts throughout the weekend will include an abundance of local talent, as Megan Vinson will be performing during the Miss New Albin Pageant and again Sunday afternoon.
The Back Home Boys will take the stage Friday night, and WhistleJacks will be performing Saturday night. Saturday afternoon will see local band Condemned in Stone take to the stage, including Morgan Gavle on lead guitar, Steve Colsch on drums and back-up vocals, Nathan Klocke on vocals, Kacey Nuehring on bass guitar and back-up vocals, and Casey Schloesser on rhythm guitar.
The Old Town Hall Museum and Firehouse will be open for tours each of the event's three main days. A fireworks display will further brighten Saturday night's entertainment venue, with the Grand Parade taking place Sunday afternoon.
