The event offered a free meal consisting of roast pork, cooked by Tony Diersen, and various potluck dishes. Mary Peters and Laurie Pfiffner did an excellent job of managing the kitchen area for this large crowd.
John Morris treated everyone to bagpipe music throughout the day.
Although the weather threatened all day, the crowd held tight for the auction and raffles. Auctioneers Mike Monroe and Terry Poley did a wonderful job of coaxing the crowd into supporting this benefit. The high sale of the day was the Michael Sieves print, "Armistice Day", purchased by Ted and Stacey Walleser.
Large raffle ticket winners included the following: 1) Remington 870 Exp Super Magnum Turkey Camo Shotgun - Dan Krouse; 2) Mossberg 410 Pump Shotgun - Wayne Knutson; 3) Michael Sieves Limited Edition print "October Ritual/Whitetail Deer" - Jolene Duwe; 4) U.S. American Flag & Pole - Todd Larsen; 5) $200 Cash - Tom Frascht; 5) $100 Cash - Rose Bartz; 6) $100 Cash - Nichole Mitchell.
Proceeds from this benefit will be distributed in the weeks to come to the Northeast Iowa Shrine Clowns, local fire departments and rescue squads, and other local organizations and projects.
The Nightcrawlers Forever committee would like to take this opportunity to express its appreciation to all of the businesses and individuals that supported this event in any way to make it such a huge success. The strong support of this event every year is greatly appreciated.
