Area phone, internet services interrupted by cut fiber optics line

Sunday afternoon and evening, October 20, CenturyLink customers in the Waukon, Lansing and surrounding areas experienced interruption of their telephone and internet services after a third-party construction crew reportedly cut through a fiber optic cable located near Frankville. According to a report, telephone and internet services were interrupted late Sunday afternoon and finally restored at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday, October 21. CenturyLink officials say 9-1-1 services were rerouted, per system design in such incidences, during the outage.
