Area students graduate from Kirkwood

Kirkwood Community College recently celebrated the graduation of 2,160 college credit students. The accomplishments were marked with annual commencement ceremonies held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.

This graduating class marked the 43nd full year of service for the college. The graduates included students from 74 Iowa counties, 12 other states in the U.S. and 13 other nations.

Among the graduates was Kelsie M. Deering, Postville. who received an AA in Liberal Arts. She is the daughter of Chuck and Kim Deering of Postville and a graduate of Postville High School.

Also graduating were Breanna J. Lenth of Elgin who received an AAS as a veterinary technician and Bryan D. Christophersen of Ossian who received an AAS as an Entry-Level Firefighter.
